Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will take necessary action if banned organizations, including Hizb ut-Tahrir, hold meetings, rallies, or carry out any activities.
A press release in this regard was issued on Thursday (March 6).
Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, said that Hizb ut-Tahrir is a banned organization under Bangladeshi law. Considering it a threat to public security, the Bangladesh government banned the group on October 22, 2009.
According to the Anti-Terrorism Act 2009, any activities of banned organizations, including meetings, rallies, processions, and the distribution of posters or leaflets, are punishable offenses.
He further said that if Hizb ut-Tahrir or any other banned organization carries out meetings, rallies, or any form of promotional activities, DMP will take necessary legal action.
