The government today approved a proposal in principle for the procurement of one cargo LNG from the spot market to address the urgent gas supply needs. 

The approval was granted during the ninth meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs, held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room in the Bangladesh Secretariat. 

The meeting was chaired by Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed.

Besides, the meeting endorsed a proposal from the Chief Adviser's Office for procuring physical services under the DPM method to host the 'Bangladesh Investment Summit-2025,' set to take place from April 7-10, 2025. 

Advisers and secretaries from the relevant departments attended the session.
