The university's student disciplinary committee made the decision at a meeting on Wednesday (February 26), presided over by RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Abdur Razzak.

The expelled students are Fahmid Latif Lion, a civil engineering student from the 2014-15 session, Soumik Saha, a CSE student from the 2016-17 session, Shashwata Saha Sagar, a mechanical engineering student from the 2019-20 session, and Mrinmoy Kanti Bishwas, a civil engineering student from the 2019-20 session.

Two more students have been suspended for four semesters (two academic years) for exam malpractice. Furthermore, based on an investigation report from August 19, 2024, 42 students have been permanently expelled from residential halls.
