The Bangladesh national football team is scheduled to fly back to Dhaka on Tuesday after their second FIFA international friendly against Nepal was cancelled due to unrest in Kathmandu, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) announced.
In a press release, the BFF confirmed that the squad will arrive at 3:00pm local time aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
The match, which was set to take place today, was called off by organisers citing security concerns arising from ongoing disturbances in the Nepali capital.
Bangladesh had played their first friendly against Nepal on September 6, a goalless draw that ended without either side managing a breakthrough.
The cancellation means the team’s tour concludes earlier than planned, with only one fixture completed.
