With the Netherlands series behind them, Bangladesh now shifts its focus to the upcoming Asia Cup—carrying momentum from a third consecutive series victory.
Despite missing out on a clean sweep in the rain-affected final match, the Tigers sealed a 2-0 win, bolstering team morale ahead of their continental campaign.
Leading from the front, skipper Liton Das starred with a sparkling 73 off 46 deliveries in the final game, earning him the Player of the Series title.
Reflecting on his performance, Liton acknowledged the importance of captaincy form in shaping team confidence. "When a captain underperforms, it can mentally affect the entire squad," he remarked.
Bangladesh are set to face Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and Afghanistan in the group stage. Liton and his side are particularly prepared for the Afghan challenge, having faced them multiple times in recent months.
The team has developed a keen understanding of Afghanistan's strengths—especially their renowned spin attack—as well as their weaknesses.
"Our players know where Afghanistan are strong and where they’re vulnerable," Liton said. "They'll come with spin, but we won't sit idle. We have both pace and spin options at our disposal."
The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, the venue for the Netherlands series, also received high praise from the captain. He described it as an ideal ground for batting and a vital part of their Asia Cup preparation.
“Playing in Sylhet was truly enjoyable. The outfield is excellent, and the conditions are much better for batting than at Mirpur. It helped us a lot ahead of a major tournament,” Liton said.
With three consecutive series wins, the skipper in form, and a well-utilised Sylhet pitch behind them, Bangladesh are poised to embrace the challenges of the Asia Cup. For Liton and his men, self-belief could prove their greatest asset.
