The Festival of Youth National Football Championship 2025 officially kicked off today at Munshiganj Stadium, marking the start of a nationwide celebration of youth and football.
Organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the tournament began with an opening match between Munshiganj and Madaripur. A total of 64 district teams will compete across eight zones, with home-and-away qualifiers followed by knockout rounds leading to the grand final in November.
Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan attended the opening ceremony as the chief guest, alongside senior officials from BFF and the ministry. The event featured cultural performances, youth showcases, and the unveiling of the official championship logo.
The championship, part of the Festival of Youth 2025 initiative, aims to promote youth empowerment, sports development, and national unity. With 112 matches scheduled across the country, the tournament is expected to revive district-level football and identify new talent.
The Festival of Youth 2025—“Creating a New Bangladesh”—is led by the Chief Adviser’s Office and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to foster unity, cooperation, and celebrate the contributions of local heroes and change-makers.
