Barcelona came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Real Valladolid on Saturday, extending their lead at the top of La Liga to seven points over Real Madrid.
Trailing early to a deflected strike from Ivan Sanchez, the Catalan side responded through second-half goals from Raphinha and Fermin Lopez to overturn the deficit at Estadio Jose Zorrilla.
With one eye on the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan, manager Hansi Flick made nine changes to the starting XI that played midweek. The heavily rotated side struggled early, and Valladolid — already relegated — took a shock lead through Sanchez’s deflected effort from a tight angle.
Despite the early setback, Barcelona maintained control and dominated possession throughout. The introduction of 16-year-old Lamine Yamal in the 38th minute, replacing injured debutant Dani Rodriguez, added urgency and creativity to the visitors' attack.
Raphinha levelled with a crisp low drive from the edge of the area — his 16th league goal of the season — before Lopez completed the turnaround with a composed finish six minutes later.
Barcelona continued to press for a third, with Hector Fort striking the post and Yamal denied by a goal-line clearance.
The league leaders are now unbeaten in 15 La Liga matches, winning 13 of them, and have claimed victory in 17 of their last 19 encounters with Valladolid.
Real Madrid, who visit the Catalans on 11 May, can reduce the gap to four points when they face Celta Vigo on Sunday.
