Bangladesh will not play any One-Day Internationals (ODIs) during their upcoming tour of Pakistan, opting instead for a series of five T20Is, according to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

This decision is part of the team’s preparations for the Asia Cup and the 2026 T20 World Cup.

The Asia Cup will be held in India in 2025, while the T20 World Cup will take place in India and Sri Lanka the following year.

Notably, the upcoming Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format, allowing teams to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the global tournament.

Originally, Bangladesh was scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is during the Pakistan tour in May.

However, following discussions between the cricket boards of both nations, it has been agreed to focus exclusively on a five-match T20I series.

In addition, a bilateral series will be held in Bangladesh in July, where Pakistan will visit for three more T20Is. This series, though not part of the ICC’s Future Tours Programme (FTP), was arranged to facilitate joint preparations for both teams. The T20 matches will be played in Dhaka on July 20, 22, and 24.
