World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka secured her second title of the year by defeating Jessica Pegula 7-5, 6-2 in the Miami Open final.

The opening set saw seven service breaks, with both players trading momentum.

However, Sabalenka gained the upper hand, winning a game to love on Pegula's serve, and her powerful play helped her prevail.

Pegula struggled to hold serve and couldn't match Sabalenka's intensity, leading to her eventual downfall.

As the second set progressed, Sabalenka dominated, breaking Pegula's serve at 5-2 to seal the win.

The Belarusian struck 31 winners compared to just 12 from Pegula, further underlining her superiority.

Having claimed the Brisbane International title in January, Sabalenka entered the Miami Open final after losing her previous two finals, at the Australian Open and Indian Wells.

"I'm speechless," Sabalenka said after the victory. "The last couple of finals were really tough and close, but I stayed focused on myself for this one. It feels so special to win here in Miami."

In the men's doubles final, British duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool were defeated 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 by top seeds Marcelo Arevalo-Gonzalez and Mate Pavic.
