A 36-member squad of the Bangladesh national football team, comprising 24 players and 12 officials, left Dhaka for the hilly city of Shillong, India this morning (March 20).
The team is set to face India in a crucial first-leg match of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers’ final round on March 25 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong.
In preparation for the encounter, the men in red and green underwent training in two phases—first in Dhaka from February 28 to March 4, followed by a camp in Taif, Saudi Arabia, from March 5 to 17.
Hamza Choudhury, who arrived in Bangladesh on March 17, joined the squad the following day and took part in his first training session on March 19.
