Mahmudullah Riyad has announced his retirement from international cricket.
He confirmed his decision in a Facebook post today (March 12), marking the end of a career that spanned over 17 years.
Mahmudullah made his debut for Bangladesh in 2007 and became a key all-rounder for the team. He played 50 Tests, 218 ODIs, and 121 T20Is, scoring over 10,000 international runs and taking more than 150 wickets. He was Bangladesh’s first-ever centurion in World Cup history, scoring back-to-back hundreds in the 2015 tournament.
Known for his calm demeanor and leadership, Mahmudullah captained Bangladesh in all three formats at different times. His contributions, especially in limited-overs cricket, made him one of the country's most dependable players.
