Bashundhara Kings have made a surprise signing to strengthen their attack by bringing in Juan Lescano, a former youth player for Real Madrid and Liverpool. 

Lescano’s name has been registered with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on the final day of the mid-season transfer window. 

The 32-year-old striker will play for the Kings in the remaining matches of the second phase of the season.

Born in Argentina, Lescano grew up in Spanish club Inter de Madrid’s system before joining Liverpool’s youth team. He later returned to Spain and played for Real Madrid’s youth side in the 2010-11 season.

Lescano began his professional career with UAE club Al Ahli and has played for clubs in Switzerland, including FC Lugano, and eight other teams. Most recently, he played for Chinese club Chongqing Tonglianglong FC.

Bashundhara Kings signed Lescano to boost their attack and address their goal-scoring issues. He is expected to arrive in Dhaka soon. Along with him, Uzbek midfielder Asror Gafurov is rejoining the team, while the club is also set to add a Brazilian center-back and a Ghanaian winger.
