The Election Commission (EC) of Bangladesh will publish the draft list of polling centres for the upcoming 13th parliamentary election on 10 September, according to an official circular.
The directive, signed by EC Deputy Secretary Md Mahbub Alam Shah and sent to field-level offices on Wednesday (August 20), said that the draft list must be published in compliance with electoral regulations requiring the announcement at least 25 days before finalisation in the Bangladesh Gazette.
The circular explained that, ahead of the national election, area-based draft lists of polling centres and polling booths must be prepared, claims and objections invited, and issues resolved in accordance with the commission’s guidelines before the list is finalised.
According to the commission’s decision, the draft list will be published on 10 September, the deadline for submitting claims and objections is September 25, all disputes must be resolved by 12 October, and the final list of polling centres is expected to be published on 20 October.
The commission has instructed officials to ensure that the process follows the polling centre establishment policy explicitly issued for this election.
