Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has identified artificial intelligence (AI) as a major challenge in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election, calling it a modern threat “more dangerous than weapons.”
He also said the commission remains vigilant against any attempt to use technology to interfere in the electoral process.
The CEC was speaking to reporters on Saturday (July 26) ahead of a view exchange meeting at the Regional Election Officer’s Office in Khulna.
He also said that steps will be taken to ensure a peaceful, fair, and participatory election.
“Operations will be carried out to suppress terrorism and recover illegal arms before the election. We want a transparent election. All activities will take place in broad daylight—not in the dark of night—so that transparency is ensured,” he added.
He warned that failure to deliver an acceptable election would raise serious questions about the nation’s future.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Regional Election Officer of Khulna Division, as well as senior district and upazila election officers.
