The July fighters of the recent mass uprising will not be eligible for quotas in government jobs, Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq E Azam, Bir Pratik, said on Monday (July 21).
He made the remarks while responding to a question during a press briefing held at the Press Information Department at the Secretariat.
The event was organised to outline the government’s support initiatives for the July uprising fighters and families of the martyrs under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
“There will be no quota in public service recruitment for July fighters,” the adviser clarified, putting to rest speculation about preferential treatment in government jobs for those who took part in the recent anti-authoritarian movement.
