Two prison guards in Thakurgaon District Jail have been temporarily suspended for allegedly taking bribes to arrange meetings between inmates and their relatives. 

Jail authorities took action after a video of the incident went viral on social media on Wednesday (February 26).

The video shows Assistant Chief Prison Guard Aminul Islam and Prison Guard Abdur Rahim accepting money from an inmate’s relative in exchange for a meeting. 

Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner (DC) Israt Farzana in this regard said, “We are aware of the video. Immediate action has been taken, and a deeper investigation is underway to ensure legal action against the guilty.”
