In a major step to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The signing ceremony was held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, according to a press release.

Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MATRADE, and Baby Rani Karmakar, Director General (DG) of EPB, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

This landmark agreement sets out a strong framework for collaboration, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to boosting trade and investment. It aims to create new opportunities for businesses while reinforcing long-term economic cooperation.

The MoU focuses on enhancing exports, facilitating greater market access, and encouraging mutual participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, and investment forums. Both sides also agreed to promote direct business-to-business (B2B) engagements to help entrepreneurs expand into each other’s markets.

Officials from both countries expressed optimism that the agreement would accelerate trade growth, diversify export baskets, and attract more investment opportunities in key sectors.
