DHAKA: Rangpur Riders beat Barisal Bulls by 29-run in the 39th Match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)-2016 on Saturday (December 3).

While chasing down a target of 155-run set by Riders, Bulls managed to score 125-run losing all wickets in 18.2-over.

Dawid Malan, Thisara Perera and Fazle Mahmud scored 30, 24 and 21 runs respectively.

Sohag Gazi, Rubel Hossain, Shahid Afridi and Liam Dawson picked up two wickets each, ensuring the downfall of Bulls while Anwar Ali and naeem Islam took one wicket each.

Earlier in the day, Riders captain Naeem Islam won the toss and elected to bat first. They managed to score 154 runs in their 20-over quota at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur in Dhaka.

Mohammad Shahjad, Mohammad Mithun, Soumya Sarkar and Ziaur Rahman scored 48, 38, 17 and 23 runs respectively helping Riders to reach the total.

For Barisal, Thisara Perera and Kamrul Islam Rabbi picked up two wickets each while Rayad Emrit took one wicket.

The Riders were in a must win position in the match to keep hope alive for the next round while the match was a dead rubber for the Bulls.

Mohammad Shahjad was adjudged as the player of the match.
