Shukuri Begum, a 70-year-old widow and destitute from Shibganj in Durgapur Upazila, has been gifted a house on behalf of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
The handover ceremony took place on Friday (September 5).
The construction of the house was overseen by Barrister Kayser Kamal.
With no shelter to stay with her young granddaughter, Shukuri Begum was left homeless.
The house has been built as part of a humanitarian initiative to provide her with secure accommodation.
The handover program was also attended by former Joint Convener of Netrokona District BNP Bazlur Rahman, Upazila BNP President Zahirul Alam Bhuiyan, Secretary Abdul Awal, Organizational Secretary Jamal Uddin Master, Shamim Ahmed Khan Sumon, along with other local leaders.
