Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was taken to Evercare Hospital in the capital this evening for a health checkup.
She left her Gulshan residence at 7:40 pm and reached the hospital in Bashundhara residential area around 8:20 pm, BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed. BNP Secretary General along with other party leaders and activists were present at the time.
Earlier this year, Khaleda Zia traveled to London on January 8 for advanced treatment. After 17 days at a London clinic, she continued medical care under the supervision of Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross at the residence of her son Tarique Rahman from January 25.
She returned home on May 6, where a medical board led by Evercare Hospital’s specialist Professor Shahabuddin Talukder has since been providing her with regular medical care.
