Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud has confirmed that he will not be part of the interim election-time government.

He posted on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday (August 13), saying, “I will not be part of the election-time government. Those involved in politics should not be in the election-time government.”

According to the Chief Adviser’s announcement, the 13th national election may be held in the first half of February.

The election schedule could be announced as early as December. Asif Mahmud’s post indicates his intention to step aside from the government responsible for conducting the election.
