The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will celebrate the 80th birth anniversary of its Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia on Friday, August 15.
In a press release, the party said doa and milad mahfils will be organised at mosques and BNP offices across the country to observe the day. A central doa and milad mahfil will be held at 11:00am on the ground floor of the BNP Central Office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, where senior leaders are expected to be present.
BNP called upon leaders, activists and supporters of all affiliated and associate organisations across the country, including in Dhaka, to participate in the programmes. The party often refers to Khaleda Zia as the “Mother of Democracy.”
