Gopalganj Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Md Sajedur Rahman confirmed the matter.
The case was filed on Saturday (July 26) at Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, Sajedur Rahman said.
He said Jamal Munshi, the brother of Ramzan Munshi—who died from bullet wounds during the clash—filed the case against unidentified individuals.
So far, 12 cases have been filed across Sadar, Kashiani, Kotalipara, and Tungipara police stations in Gopalganj. These include five murder cases, one under the Special Powers Act, and six under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
A staggering 10,187 people have been accused in these cases, with law enforcement having arrested 325 individuals so far.
The violence erupted on July 16, when hundreds of activists from the banned Awami League and its outlawed student wing, Chhatra League, allegedly attacked an NCP rally and road meeting in Gopalganj. Clashes later broke out between the attackers and law enforcement personnel.
The day-long violence left five people dead and over a hundred injured, including police officers and journalists.
