Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus held a meeting with leaders of several political parties on Saturday to exchange views on the country’s ongoing political situation.
The meeting, organized at the State Guest House Jamuna, began at 5 pm and continued for about an hour, according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.
Leaders from a diverse range of political parties participated in the discussion. Among them were Aminul Haque Tipu Biswas of Jatiya Gonofront, Mustafa Jamal Haider from the 12-party alliance, Maulana Abdul Majed Athari of Nejam-e-Islam Party, and Maulana Yusuf Ashraf from Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis.
Others included NPP Chairman Fariduzzaman Farhad, Jatiya Dal Chairman Syed Ehsanul Huda, Dr. Mushtaq Hossain of Bangladesh Jasad, Bobby Hajjaj from the Nationalist Democratic Movement, and Zaker Party Secretary General Shamim Haider.
Also present were Islami Oikya Jote Secretary General Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Razi, Bhashani Janashakti Party Chairman Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Bangladesh Labor Party Chairman Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Iran, BSD-Marxist Coordinator Masud Rana, and Manjurul Islam Afendi from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
This follows a similar meeting held last week, where Dr. Yunus engaged with representatives from 17 political parties, including the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), in an effort to build political consensus and address the country’s ongoing challenges.
