No room for Awami League in Bangladesh: Hasnat

National Citizens’ Party (NCP) southern region chief coordinator Hasnat Abdullah on Wednesday (July 23) said there is space for everyone in Bangladesh except the Awami League.

He made the remark while addressing the party’s 44th district rally in Cumilla, part of NCP’s ongoing “July March” campaign.

Speaking at the Town Hall premises in Cumilla city, Hasnat strongly criticised the ruling party over its response to the recent Milestone School tragedy, stating, “When Milestone was burning, Awami League came to roast potatoes. We must unite to resist this party.”

Regarding faulty aircraft still in operation, Hasnat said, “The government must answer why defective planes are flying.”

Calling for an impartial investigation into the Milestone incident, he said the real facts cannot be revealed without neutrality. “The confusion over the death toll must also be cleared up,” he added.

Hasnat at this time declared, “Cumilla will be the cantonment of NCP.”
