Two Dhaka courts have fixed July 31 to hold charge framing hearings in six graft cases involving 100 accused, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, over alleged irregularities in RAJUK Purbachal plot allocations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib on July 20 forwarded the matters to Special Judge Court as the cases were ready for trial.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order as the accused refrained from appearing before the court in spite of its order in this connection.
Three cases will be heard at Dhaka Special Judge Court-4, including ones involving Sheikh Rehana, Azmina Siddiq, and Radwan Mujib Siddiq. The remaining three, including those involving Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Saima Wazed Putul, will be heard at Judge Court-5.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the cases in January 2025 and submitted charge sheets in March. Arrest warrants and gazette notifications had previously been issued after repeated absences by the accused.
