BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today welcomed the interim government’s decision to hold the national election in mid-February, calling it a major political turning point.
Speaking at the BNP Chairperson's Office in Gulshan, Fakhrul expressed deep gratitude to Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus for his “wise decision” and said the long-anticipated meeting between Yunus and Tarique Rahman in London ended in a cordial environment.
Fakhrul said the entire nation had been waiting for this moment and praised Tarique’s leadership for successfully proposing a revised election timeline. He also called for unity, moving past political divisions to meet the expectations of the people.
