BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir successfully underwent eye surgery at a Bangkok hospital today.

BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter. 

The surgery was performed at 3:00 pm Bangladesh time at Rutnin Eye Hospital. 

Fakhrul’s wife, Rahat Ara Begum, is currently with him at the hospital cabin following the procedure.

He had been experiencing eye issues since last Monday and was initially treated at United Hospital in Dhaka. 

Doctors there recommended urgent retina surgery, prompting his immediate travel to Bangkok later that night.
