BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has extended support to Nizam Uddin, a seriously ill Faridpur resident who vowed not to eat rice until BNP returns to power.
Following his directive, a BNP delegation led by Health Affairs Secretary Dr Rafiqul Islam and 'Amra BNP Paribar' convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon visited Nizam at Faridpur Medical College Hospital and conveyed Tarique Rahman's message of sympathy.
Nizam was later transferred to PG Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment.
According to his family, Nizam stopped eating rice in 2014 after Awami League supporters allegedly destroyed food on the anniversary of Ziaur Rahman's martyrdom.
