BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has called for unity to restore democracy and ensure voting rights for all, emphasizing the need for collective efforts and cooperation to achieve this goal.

"We must stand together to establish democracy. The right to vote must be ensured for everyone," she said during a virtual Eid greeting session on Monday (March 31). 

The session, held at 9 pm Bangladesh time, also featured BNP's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, who joined from London.

The event began with a welcome speech from BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. 

Tarique Rahman extended Eid greetings before inviting Khaleda Zia to address party members and supporters.

Expressing her gratitude, Khaleda Zia said, "Your sacrifices and struggles have not been in vain and will not go in vain. We must persist in our efforts to secure the people's right to vote." 

She conveyed Eid wishes to the nation and became emotional as she reconnected with party leaders and activists after a long time. She also sought prayers from the public for her future journey.

Senior BNP leaders, including Standing Committee members Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy attended the event.  

Other participants included Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Selima Rahman, Vice Chairman Barkatullah Bulu, Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Joint Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel, Syed Emran Saleh Prince, Advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury, and Abdul Awal Mintu.

Additional attendees comprised Chairperson's Advisor SM Fazlul Haque, Gazipur District BNP Convener KM Fazlul Haque Milon, Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal Convener Afroza Abbas, General Secretary Sultana Ahmed, Jatiyatabadi Lawyers Forum President Joynal Abedin, and Dhaka Metropolitan BNP Convener Aminul Haque.

BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku moderated the event.
