BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed happiness over celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr in a “joyful and free atmosphere” after years, following the ouster of the Awami League government.
He also said that we are celebrating Eid in a free atmosphere.
He made the remarks this morning at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar while paying tribute to BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman.
Fakhrul emphasized BNP’s commitment to fulfilling its promises and hoped the interim government would do the same.
He also wished for the quick recovery of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and the return of Tarique Rahman to Bangladesh.
Several BNP leaders, including Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, and Nazrul Islam Khan, accompanied him.
Reflecting on BNP’s 15-year-long struggle for democracy, voting rights, and human rights, Fakhrul said he prayed for the success of their movement.
