A Dhaka court today ordered the freezing of 160 shares held under the names of former Member of Parliament (MP) from Jashore-3, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, along with his late father Kazi Shahed Ahmed, mother Kazi Amina Ahmed, and brothers Kazi Anis Ahmed and Kazi Enam Ahmed.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) deputy director Rezaul Karim.

ACC Public Prosecutor Mir Ahammed Salam presented the petition in court.

This move comes after the court had previously ordered the seizure of 123 bank accounts linked to the family on February 26, and imposed a travel ban on Kazi Nabil Ahmed and his family members on February 18 over alleged corruption charges.
