A Dhaka court today (Feb 25) imposed a travel ban on former Narayanganj-4 lawmaker Shamim Osman, his wife Salma Osman, son Imtinan Osman, and daughter Labiba Zoha over corruption allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order following a plea from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC is investigating allegations that the family amassed illegal wealth, bought properties in Canada and the US, and ran businesses in Dubai with illicit funds from tender manipulation, extortion, and embezzlement.
The ACC argued that the accused were attempting to flee the country, necessitating the travel ban to ensure a fair probe.
