The full text of the High Court (HC) verdict quashing eight cases filed against BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has been published on the Supreme Court website.

On October 30, 2024, a High Court Division Bench, led by Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain, granted an absolute rule and delivered the verdict, canceling the cases.

The cases, filed in 2015 at Darus Salam and Jatrabari Police Stations, had charge sheets issued later. 

In 2017, Khaleda Zia filed a plea to cancel the proceedings, which led to a stay on the cases. Following the final hearing, the High Court ruled in her favor.

Khaleda Zia’s legal team included senior lawyers Zainul Abedin, Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Barrister Kaiser Kamal, and Advocate Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, while the state was represented by Deputy Attorney General Md Jasim Sarkar and Russell Ahmed.
