Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam today (July 19) reaffirmed that the upcoming national election will be held within the timeframe set by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, with no possibility of delay.

“The election won’t be delayed even by a single day,” he told reporters after attending the ‘TEDx Comilla University’ event held at the Mainamoti auditorium of the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) in Kotbari, Cumilla.

“There is no uncertainty over the election. It will be held in a peaceful, fair, and beautiful environment. A level-playing field will be ensured, and no candidate will face discrimination,” he added.

On the issue of Gopalganj, he said that the government treats all districts equally and has no plans to separate Gopalganj. “Those raising concerns about human rights should visit and see for themselves,” he added.

Speaking about the much-anticipated July Charter, Shafiqul said the government is trying to declare it by August 5 through broad consensus.

Highlighting the role of youth in the July Revolution, he praised their peaceful activism and expressed hope that young voters will play a key role in the upcoming election.

Comilla University VC Prof Md Haider Ali, presenter Farabi Hafiz, and astrophotographer Zubayer Kawlin also spoke at the event.
