Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested 40 people in the last 24 hours during a special drive in the city.

In a press release on Friday, CMP stated that the arrests were made between midnight on Wednesday (March 4) and the same time on Thursday (March 5) to prevent unrest in the city.

The detainees are accused in multiple cases under the Special Powers Act, Anti-Terrorism Act, and Penal Code, including charges related to attacks on students and protesters during the July movement.
