Muslims in the Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Tuesday (June 4).

The Saudi’s Supreme Court announced the Eid day after the moon had been sighted there. The UAE also declared the same along with other Gulf countries.

African countries--Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sierra Leone, the Republic of Congo, Egypt, and other African countries, which have traditionally relied on Saudi’s announcement, are also celebrating Eid. 

Mali celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday (June 3). 

Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of the month of Shawwal.
The sighting of the moon marks the beginning of Eid celebration as well as the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Muslims in Bangladesh, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia will celebrate Eid on Wednesday (June 5).
