State Police said 20 people have been killed in a deadly crash involving a limousine that took place near a busy tourist spot in Schoharie county of New York on Saturday afternoon.
New York State Police said two vehicles were involved in the crash shortly before 2 p.m. at the intersection of state routes 30 and 30A.
On Saturday, authorities said there were "multiple" fatalities but did not disclose how many. It was unclear whether those killed were in the vehicles or at the Apple Barrel Country Store, which is at that intersection.
According to The Post-Star's news partner WNYT-TV NewsChannel13, several pedestrians were also hit trying to enter the store while their family members were already inside.
Some eyewitnesses at the accident said the limo went through the intersection, hitting another car and pedestrians before going into a gully.
This is not the first time an accident has happened at this location. Large trucks were recently banned from coming down the hill into the intersection to help prevent possible accidents.
