Seventeen people died and twelve others injured in a bus accident in Mainpuri district of India’s Uttar Pradesh Wednesday morning (June 13).

Initial investigation suggests that the driver of the bus was speeding when the vehicle hit the road divider, reports NDTV.

The collision led to the bus being overturned. The accident happened in Mainpuri's Danhara area.

The bus was travelling from Jaipur in Rajasthan to Uttar Pradesh’s Farukkhabad, Hindustan Times reported.
