At least four children were killed and about 20 others injured Friday morning after a portion of a public school building collapsed in India's western state of Rajasthan, officials said.
Thirty-two children have been pulled out from the debris, and there were fears some more may be trapped.
The school building collapsed at Peeplodi Government School in Manohar Thana area of Jhalawar district of Rajasthan.
Reports said the accident took place at around 8:30 a.m. local time and there were more than 40 children, besides some teachers and staff members, in the premises.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma instructed local officials to ensure proper treatment of the injured children.
