One more person died from dengue in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, bringing the total death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 62 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest fatality was reported under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
During the same period, 394 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, raising the total number of confirmed cases in 2025 to 16,789.
Barishal Division reported the highest number of new cases outside Dhaka city with 161 infections. Chattogram Division (outside city corporations) recorded 38 cases, while Dhaka Division (outside city corporations) saw 58 new infections.
In Dhaka city, 41 new cases were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation and 24 in Dhaka North City Corporation. Additionally, 58 cases were reported in Rajshahi Division, eight in Khulna Division, and six in Mymensingh Division.
As of now, 1,209 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals nationwide.
In 2024, dengue claimed 575 lives and recorded 101,214 cases, with 100,040 recoveries, according to DGHS data.
