Dengue: 204 hospitalised in 24-hours

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its report said 204 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours.

DGHS issued a press release in this regard on Friday (July 4).

Among the newly admitted patients, 101 are from areas outside Barishal city corporation, 9 from outside Chattogram city, 22 from outside Dhaka city, 19 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 38 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 5 from outside Mymensingh city, and 10 from outside Rajshahi city.

In the last 24 hours, 254 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 10,336 patients have recovered and returned home.

As of July 4, a total of 11,660 people have been infected with dengue in 2025. Of them, 59.1 percent are male and 40.9 percent are female.

Although no dengue-related deaths occurred in the past day, a total of 45 people have died of the disease so far this year.

In 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue and 575 died.

In comparison, 2023 was deadlier, with 1,705 dengue-related deaths and 321,179 people admitted to hospitals across the country.
