Two people died from Covid-19 in the 24 hours till Friday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

Fifteen new infections were also recorded during the same period.

This marks the second Covid-related death since the virus began resurging. The first was reported on June 5, following a long lull since late 2021.

The last nationwide lockdown in Bangladesh was enforced in August 2021.
