9 new Covid cases detected in 24 Hours

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its report said nine new Covid-19 cases were detected in the country in the past 24 hours, with an infection rate of 22.50 percent.

DGHS confirmed the matter through a press release on Tuesday (June 3) afternoon.

According to the release, 40 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, and nine of them came back positive. So far, Bangladesh has recorded a total of 2,051,729 Covid-19 cases.

Two more patients recovered during the 24-hour period, raising the total number of recoveries to 2,019,354. A total of 15,726,171 samples have been tested since the beginning of the pandemic.

No new deaths were reported in the same period. The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country remains at 24,499, with a fatality rate of 1.44 percent. The recovery rate now stands at 98.42 percent.

On Monday, 14 new cases were detected from 28 samples, indicating a sharp increase in the test positivity rate over the past day.
